Welterweight is located on 2.5 acres of land just outside of town center of New Paltz, NY. It was built to design by owner and producer/engineer, Ryan Dieringer. The room is conducive to tracking any of a range of ensembles - from jazz combos to punk rock bands. The studio consists of a spacious, 17x24 live room, with 16 ft., wood-slat, gabled ceilings, as well as two isolation booths - one 7x10, the other 5x7. The studio is outfitted with a wealth of vintage mics and analog and digital gear for creative recording and mixing. The studio also has a swimming pool right outside the doors of the live room, for cool-off breaks in the midst of a long tracking session, as well as trails in the field for calming morning walks.
For those travelling to be with us, lodging can be made available for up to 6 people at the studio, if requested. There is a 15x12 loft with a double bed as well as various sleeping couches and pads.
